Bangin!

For the past two years, I haven't cut my hair at all. I've gone through the grueling process of growing it out.. it doesn't grow much at all. I wanted a change SO bad.. so I dyed my hair and cut my bangs. Yes, with some nail scissors I cut my bangs myself. I've started straightening it, too, for a new look. Now I remember why I used to be obsessed with cutting my hair..I need something different! Here's the finished product:

I'm happy with it, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Other than that, this week has been great. Barack Obama is the new president, which I can say after hard work and hours of volunteering for months on end and going from door to door in smoldering hot whether proudly. I've continued working on the musical at my school. We're doing Cinderella, and I'm a step sister. I've been taking lots of pictures, memorizing lines, and I made the top show choir at my school. It's looking to be the year of the Maggie.. and I'm diggin it.
How awesome is that?
Anyway, I'm workin on a new look at my blog to please the fellow readers. Please continue looking for my new pictures, I just posted a new batch this week!

I'm back..

and so is American Idol! For those who've followed my blog for a while, you know that I'm a huge fan of American Idol. Last year was the year of Jason Castro.. He was definitely my favorite on Idol. And this year, just when I thought I'd have to find a completely new love, as I do every year, I was surprised to see Jason's little brother, Michael, audition... damn. That's all I gotta say. Check him out :)

Moving

If you've ever lost someone, this song will totally make you cry. It's by Death Cab for Cutie, and it's called "What Sarah Said." I always get really emotional when I hear it.

And it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to father time
As I stared at my shoes in the ICU that reeked of piss and 409
And I rationed my breaths as I said to myself that I'd already taken too much today
As each descending peak on the LCD took you a little farther away from me
Away from me

Amongst the vending machines and year-old magazines in a place where we only say goodbye
It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend on a faulty camera in our minds
But I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose than to have never lain beside at all
And I looked around at all the eyes on the ground as the TV entertained itself

'Cause there's no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news
And then the nurse comes round and everyone will lift their heads
But I'm thinking of what Sarah said that "Love is watching someone die"

So who's going to watch you die?..

Guilty pleasures..

The music I've been listening to lately has been so varied! After getting a lead in my high school's musical, Cinderella (I am a Stepsister!) I've been listening to a lot of Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella. From my voice lessons, I've begin listening to music from Sweeney Todd, and I've really widened my taste in music. My little sister is really into Taylor Swift right now, which I didn't really jump into head first. I thought it was going to be bubbly, stupid, and lighthearted (in a bad way) to the point where there was no emotion. But, the songs are really really good and although they're lovey dovey and she's a country singer, I really like her pop feel and she's really talented and seems down to earth. Her songs are really relatable, too. My friends have really different tastes in music, so I've started listening to some nineties pop and even some Seal lately, as well. Britney Spears, who has always been one of my favorites, came out with a really good CD, too. Her last CD, Blackout, is really good, and I especially love the song "Piece of Me." Circus, her newest CD, is full of techno beats and my favorites are "Womanizer" and "Circus." Everyone criticizes her, but she's really different and she always surprises me. Love her. Go listen.
I think that music is one of the highest form of communication, because it's writing, essentially, and writing that's put to music gives it feeling through climaxes, melodies, and so much more.
What are some of your favorite songs? Bands are so broad, but if you have a favorite band you can give that, too. I really want some new songs to put on my iPod. Nothing is off the table, here, give me what you like.

Also, check out my photography blog (the link is to your left) to check out some awesome pictures representing the Elements of water, fire, wind, and earth.

Edit: Here are some videos for your enjoyment :)

Stepsister's Lament from Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella (Disney Version)
I get to sing this song in the musical :)

Love Story by Taylor Swift, this is one of my favorite songs by her. Very pop, very country, very light hearted, but I love it.

Womanizer by Britney Spears. I cannot stop listening to this song.

Circus by Britney Spears... she's amazing.
